THE UGLY TRUMP CNN TOWN HALL WAS MUCH WORSE THAN BIGGEST CRITICS INITIALLY THOUGHT
You’ve likely heard about the ugly, Trump CNN town hall that happened last week. Hopefully, for your own sake, you didn’t watch it. I certainly didn’t. My curiosity about Trump is pretty much satisfied at this point. He’s certain to be himself. A racist, misogynist boor who creates damaging chaos wherever he goes, and wherever his voice lands. So no, I didn’t watch. Thank god. Because regardless of which side of the fence your news watching happens on, the ugly Trump CNN town hall was even worse than you think (or didn’t). And even for CNN, that’s kind of impressive.

If you watch Fox, you heard about how all the libs were freaking out about the ugly Trump CNN town hall. If you watched almost anything else, you were told how ugly it was, and that you should be freaking out. But this is all about what Trump said, if avoiding (on one side) how awful what he said was. But if you were actually in the audience at this ugly debacle, you know how much worse it actually was. A town hall, as it were, is supposed to be a forum where someone speaks (Trump) and the audience reacts as they are prone to.

But CNN didn’t really do that format, though they advertised that’s exactly what this was. Instead, before the town hall began, a floor manager came out and told the audience, “Please don’t boo, please be respectful.” But also made it clear that the audience as “allowed to applaud.” Yet many of the attendees were “disgusted” and “bewildered” by what Trump said. But they didn’t react negatively because CNN didn’t want viewers to hear the live audience react to how ugly Trump really was.
