San Antonio Cop Fired For Shooting Innocent Teen Eating Burger in Car

“Kids these days” is one of those timeless sayings older people use, lamenting the shortcomings of anyone younger.  But kids, and people of all ages, are suffering from a malady of “cops these days.”  Police across the United States have become so militarized with authority, their trigger fingers barely hesitate when confronted with even the most basic scenarios.  That certainly seems to be the case with San Antonio police officer James Brennard, who shot an unarmed and innocent teen who was eating a burger in his car.  The car, of course, was parked in a McDonald’s parking lot at the time.

VIDEO FOOTAGE CLEARLY SHOWS COP SHOT INNOCENT TEEN FOR NO REASON

And this time the shooting was entirely shot on video, which fully illustrates how poorly this San Antonio cop handled the situation.  It shows, Brennard yelling commands at the clearly surprised 17-year-old who was eating a burger in his car.  Unfortunately, the car doesn’t appear to have been in park, and the car rolls back when the startled boy took his foot off the brake.  Brennard immediately shot the boy.  The panicking youth then tries to drive away, and Brennard shot several more times.

COP FIRED AFTER MEDIA INTEREST GREW, VIDEO CONTRADICTS POLICE REPORT

San Antonio Cop Brennard’s official police report falsely stated that the 17-year-old struck him with is car while trying to escape to justify the shooting.  It appears that Brennard thought this was the same car that evaded him in a pursuit the night before; it wasn’t.  The 17-year-old was not a suspect involved in any crime.  But police charged him with assaulting a police officer after he arrived at the hospital.  San Antonio cop Brennard has been fired, as local media interest grew about the shooting.
The unidentified victim of this police shooting remains in critical condition.
