Idiot “Hunter” Mistakenly Kills, Skins Two German Shepherds

AN IDIOT HUNTING IN CONNECTICUT KILLED AND SKINNED TWO GERMAN SHEPHERDS

This story doesn’t make much sense at all and is heartbreaking for any dog lover to read about.  An idiot “hunter” was out hunting for deer in Connecticut with a crossbow shot and killed two German shepherds.  He supposedly mistook the easily recognizable dogs for coyotes.  And yes, that explanation really isn’t understandable at all.  German Shepherds are easily recognizable everywhere in the world, for one.  For another, they are far, far larger than any coyote anywhere.  Different colors, different sizes, and they move totally differently.  And if you are close enough to shoot one with a crossbow and can see well enough to hit it, you should know better.

HUNTER SUPPOSEDLY THOUGHT THE TWO GERMAN SHEPHERDS WERE COYOTES AND WANTED THEIR PELTS

The idiot hunter was 61-year-old Michael Konschak.  After killing the two dogs, he texted photos to a taxidermist, hoping to tan their hides.  To get that process started, he skinned the two dogs at his home in New York.  But he did such an inept job, he ended up tossing both pelts away in the trash.  Could this be any worse?  Yes, it can.  The taxidermist was skeptical that the pictures actually showed two coyotes, or were in fact dogs.  So he shared the images with others who could better identify them.  And those images eventually made their way to the dogs’ owner’s family, who was desperately searching for them.

GERMAN SHEPHERDS’ OWNERS HEARTBROKEN TO DISCOVER DOGS’ DEATHS AS THEY DESPERATELY SEARCHED FOR THEM

One family member, Eric Caviola, issued a statement saying, “All that time our family, friends, neighbors and strangers had spent searching for them, and they had been dead the whole time.  Alll the while Mike Konschak, the person responsible, kept it a secret.”  The two German Shepherds, Cimo and Lieben, had escaded from their Ridgefield backyard fence that had been damaged by a black bear.  The idiot hunter Mike Konschak now faces several charges, including including second-degree tampering with physical evidence, second-degree forgery, interfering with an officer and two hunting-related charges.
